My Handbag, My Right Hand

I left for work the other morning, lost in some all-consuming daydream, and I didn’t get five steps before noticing that something was wrong. Very wrong.  I felt completely naked – and eerily light.  And then I knew what I was missing. That essential extension of every woman’s arm, the extremity we can go nowhere without – my handbag.

Gifting Big, Baby!

A few years ago it was the summer of weddings. Friend after friend of mine got engaged and then invitation after invitation for their nuptial celebrations. It was like the plague. An epidemic of matrimony surrounded me. And coming up with meaningful, personal, and creative gifts taxed me. But somehow I made it through and was glad to be done with it.

Becoming The Karate Kid Still Within Reach

As a daddy’s little girl, there were always three movies that I could watch over and over again with the papa bear: Grease, Rocky and The Karate Kid.
